Meet Real Galaxy and Quasar Explorers!

Astrophysicist Melodi Rodrigue uses tools — including the Hubble Space Telescope — to explore interacting galaxies.

Her son, astronomer KC Rodrigue, uses the Great Basin Observatory here in Nevada to explore objects like exoplanets, stellar nurseries and galactic quasars, among the most powerful objects in the universe.

Come hear more from these amazing speakers. Then experience a fulldome planetarium show about “Cosmic Origins” from NASA!

Discover spectroscopy, the science of light, and learn how scientists study the Universe by deciphering clues hidden in light arriving from distant objects.

The Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS) is an instrument on the Hubble Space Telescope designed to analyse ultraviolet light from very distant, faint objects.

COS allows us to learn about the origins of the large scale structure of the Universe, the cold interstellar medium, the formation and evolution of galaxies and the origin of stellar and planetary systems.

Please note: For our afternoon and evening shows, the content featured is not created for younger children (under 7). We regret that we cannot admit any child under 4 to afternoon and evening shows. Our Saturday programs at 10am, 11am, Noon and 1pm are GREAT for families with younger kids.
